OS: Windows NT

Comment:

Is there a way to see who may have accessed a file on a network drive. For example, I accidently saved a file to a network share drive and want to see if anyone had accessed it.

Thanks

Check the "Accessed" date on the file, WITHOUT opening it.

So, were you able to determine who accessed the file?

Uh, just stopping by.

How would one check this Accessed Date?

On your system, does it display the userid of who last accessed it?

The OP wants to know WHO accessed it.

The OP? I'm assuming you meant the original poster. The question was how to find out if anyone had indeed accessed the file. Not who accessed it.

Quoth the OP: "Is there a way to see WHO may have accessed a file on a network drive."

But now I presume you are aware that there is no way to see WHO may have accessed the file.

So the OP can never determine if anyone is accessing the file unless the OP has never accessed the file herself after placing it on the shared drive.

But I still wonder how to check the accessed date. How does one do that?

I guess you don't know.

Neither do I.

I wonder if it is even possible.
