Hi,
I have one server with Windows NT 4.0 installed and it is a primary domain controller for domain 1. I have also a Windows 2000 Server who is also a primary domain controller but for domain 2.
Now I should have domain 1 the WinNT Server to domain 2 the Win 2000 Server. How do i do this without install the WinNT Server again.
Please Help me. Mail answers to officinapaper@home.se

I think you want to setup Domain 1 to be
the Win2k Server (Currently Domain2)
and Domain 2 to be the WIn NT server
(currently Domain1).

Don't think you can do this without
reinstalling. I may be wrong though.
Anyone else got any bright insights on
this one ?

Leave both the way that they are! Create a "Trust" Relationship between the two!

You can't move a NT Domain controller between domains. They maintain SIDs that are unique to the domain. I think Win2000 secondary domain controllers can be demoted to Data server, then promoted to Backup Domain controller of in the NT domain. If it is the first DC of the W2K domain, However, or was not built as a W2K Mixed Mode Domain controller, I think you are in for a rebuild.
Personally, I would rebuild anyway. At least you know exactly what to expect.
If you can live with 2 domains, then the 'trust' suggestion is the easiest.
