hello sir,

When i started to boot Win NT 4.0 workstation(service pack 6),it came upto the blue screen and stopped giving the error message shown below.

"Fatal system error (c000021a)
session manager initialization system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000022.
Restart and set the recovery options in the system control panel or the /CRASHDEBUG system start option."

this is the error message shown.
i have tried reebooting it using Last good known configuration(pressing spacebar), but again the same error occurs.

please tell me the solution for the problem and help me how to set the /CRASHDEBUG option.
I will be grateful to u on your help,

thank u,

Hi,

the first question in that kind of scenarios is always: Do you have installed any Software or any Service or Device ??

If LastKnownGood didn't work you have to boot with CD or the 3 Installation Disks and choose Option "R" to repair NT. At the Point where NT asks you to choose Repair-Options I would first choose any except "Software/Registry" because your installed Software may be lost then and you have to reinstall it.

The crashDebug-Option is added to boot.ini so you can make a Memory Dump and save it over COM-Port. That is only of Interest if you like to go to Microsoft-Support with the Problem.

twin is right. The only way is to repair. Try booting with the vga option first. It may help. If repair doesnt work you have to use ntfsdos or erdcommander.
