My comp froze the other night so i decided to press the power button. Woke up this morning and the comp wont start up in windows.
First off it does the usual memory test etc ... but after that it usually loads up that little windows sign but however this time a black screen pops up saying me to choose b/w safe mode, safe mode with networking, etc ... so i choose safe mode (cause i thought it always works).
But then i get directed to a blue screen saying that "A problem has been detected and windows has been shutdown to prevent further damage to your computer - UNMOUNTABLE BOOT VOLUME)
It says for me to fix this hardware/software problem i gotta go into safe mode but i cant. I keep goign in circles. Please help if you can

Kind regards.

Sounds like that "freeze" was a hardware failure.

Most folks don't have a ERD so my recommendation is start the NT install from booting the cd and choose repair. Answer no to having a erd and when given the choice only select boot files. See if this repair can't get you in.
