I have Windows NT Workstation 4 installed on my PC with a 8 gig HDD and running an NTFS file system (2gig used) I want to have a duel boot of Win NT and Win98. I have partition magic 4 installed on my PC and would like step by step instructions on creating a partition for win98, installing win98 and then getting it to duel boot. Thank you in advance

Also would it be worth purchasing Winternals (www.winternals.com/products/fat32.shtml) FAT32 for WinNT 4 to enable me to access a fat32 partition from an NTFS partition?

An article which describes what seems to be exactly what you want can be found at: http://www.winplanet.com/features/howtos/ntdirectboot/ I have a multiple boot (DOS, Win98 and NT) which works fine. I just seem to remember that the article does not mention '98 but '95, but the procedure is the same. I did not change the necessary switches for the 'bootsect'-settings from '95 to '98. One tip: NT can not read FAT-32 formatted disks, but there are utilities which enable DOS/'98 to read NTFS-disks.
I have duel boot working with NT on and NTFS partition and Win98 on a fat32 with another Fat32 partition which both operating systems can access (I used the winternals software) for the boot manager I used PowerQuest BootMagic and set which partitions would be visable and It worked fine. Cheers for your help ne way but that site was not v.informative.

I have them dual booted. not a problem. just use Partition magic to "Prepare for New operating system. Make it a FAT partition and then make it active, boot into it and install NT. Then boot back into 98 and install Boot magic...works great for me
