Win NT and Visual Basic 6.0

Comment:
I recently upgraded to Win NT 4.0 sp4. The machine was previously running Win 95 and running a program which requires Visual Basic files. After going to NT this program no longer worked so I downloaded vbrun60.exe and ran it on the machine. It did not take the VB install because it said that a file was missing so I then ran Vbrun50.exe which installed fine. This still did not solve the problem. The program was giving me a wrong version message so I went to a machine which was still running Win 95 and copied the files to match versions. This worked, however is this a proper fix? I need to document it and have it be reliable.

It sounds like the program that was written in VB was also written originally on Windows 95 and not NT. Try either installing the program on an windows 95 pc or you could just rewrite the program in Windows NT to have it to run in that environment without file errors.
