Hi there,
i install a software onto my pc with windows NT4 as OS.After restaring the PC the message"stop:c000021a(Fatal Sys error) Windows logon process terminated 0 x 00000080( 0 x 00000000 0 x 00000000) begin dump of physical memory" appeared at the BLUE SCREEN how to rectify the proble without affecting my files inside the HD?Thanx

When the machine boots, select the option to Boot to the Last Known Good Configuration.
If that doesn't work, try Safe Mode or VGA mode and uninstall the software you just installed.
I'm curious though, what did you install?

Jennifer, would you please stop telling people to boot into Safe Mode in NT4.
There is no Safe Mode in NT4, just VGA mode.

Um....Dave. No. Safe Mode in NT IS VGA mode. It's the same thing. Perhaps you're not aware that the two are synonymous in NT.

Yes, I'm well aware that VGS mode is NT's version of safe mode. It's just the way you have worded it seemed like you were telling him he had two choices of either
Safe Mode or VGA mode.

And it's a poor excuse for safe mode ...only thing it does is load the default vga driver ... all the messed up other stuff
still loads. If "last known .." don't work get out your image backup. Another option to save data is a parallel install :

The trick is to Not format, and install to a Different folder, then use the new install to grab and save files, as should have been done before disaster struck.Best
