OS: NT4 server
CPU/Ram: 999

hi

have a very strange message. have a nt4 server PDC and nt4 server BDC. have a HP printer. Every PC on the network can ping successfully the printer and the PDC. The PDC can ping everything apart from this printer - request times out.
it can ping other printers no problem as well/

any ideas

bad entry for this printers ip address in the hosts or lmhost file on the server?

Firewall software loaded on the server that doesn't have the hp printer ip allowed?

have checked hosts and lmhosts - nothing seems to be wrong

no firewall software installed.

just to add to the wierd problem

I can now ping this printer.. but am unable to ping another - one which was working last week,. what is going on with my print server

have done a fullscan for viruses and its clean.

any ideas?
