Reply: (edit)IIS is short for "Internet Information Server". Version 3 is a separately installed component in NT networking. Later versions were add-ons by various different packages, most notably the NT 4.0 Option Pack. Once installed, you do not modify the srevice properties through the network neighbor settings, nor through the control panel, rather you use the IIS Manager that's added to the Strat menu. Enough to start with? Chase

Reply: (edit)IIS is Microsoft's Internet Information Server...their http web server. It comes free with NT Server 4. IIS serves up static html web pages, supports active server pages (ASP) for dynamic server side pages generated by VB (and javascript), common gateway interface (CGI) for submitting requests to server-side programs written in PERL, TCL, C, etc. IIS also supports other protocols, such as FTP. IIS competes against Apache and other web servers. You manage IIS (aka your web server) through the Management Console. Hope this helps!
