My P-III /450Mhz is freezing.PLEASE HELP Each tim i boot up i get the message VERIFYING DMI POOL DATA... It's working with other HDD at ATA 33 connected to my SY-6BA+IV motherboard,but i have this problem trying to connect my SAMSUNG SV 2042D HDD(wich is ATA 66, NTFS with Win NT 4.0 & Win XP Proff.) at ATA 66 IDE.I've tryed solving this problem by reseting the CMOS with the jumper, but no sucess.I've come to the point verifying dmi pool data......sucess,but still did not boot. Please HELP.

I have seen systems stop at this message due to not having a valid MBR. If the drive works in one system and not in another it is usually due to not having the correct bios settings for the drive. DO NOT USE AUTO. You must have the settings that work on one system [heads, cyliners, sectors per track] on the new system or the drive geometry will be off due to a different controller and how it views the drives layout. So you can have a valid MBR but when the new contrller looks its not landing in the correct spot to find it.
Summary: system while rebootingand hangs at "verifying DMI pool data" and i performed with repair option and it's lost all previous setups ( like ser pack 6 to ser pack 1)but am able to see all my softewares....
