Windows NT is just to work on the net, or it can bu used normaly like others?

NT Workstation is a desktop operating system just like 98 or XP and NT Server is meant to be used in a network environment but yes, you can use it like a workstation if you want to. It can be a standalone server not attached to a network and you can install regular desktop applications if they are compatible with NT Server.
