Does anyone know if there is something I could do to make my Windows NT 4.0 to work with USB?
/Thanks

As far as I know NT 4 does not support USB. However, you may want to get service pack 5 and see if that has changed. I don't think it has though. You will probably need to wait for Windows 10000 for USB support.

You're right. I have SP5 and don't think NT4 will work with USB. I don't know why Microsoft didn't make a batch to solve that. See, we still need NT5(or 2000).

Windows NT4 does not support USB. You will have to install Windows 2000 if you need this functionality.

Those Microsoft monopolist set it up so that you will NEED to upgrade to Windows 2000 for USB support! What a scam! They'll never support USB in Windows NT.

I haave SP6a and that doesn't support it, either. I know that there are 3P devices, but I can't find any software options. If you can help me, please e-mail me.
Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know if there is something I could do to make my Windows NT 4.0 to work with USB?

L&T Information Technology Limited may have developed USB Drivers for NT 4.0
Have a look at their site at
www.ltitl.com

Try ionetworks.com, support/software area. They make a usb protocol stack for NT4 so you can use usb devices. You need, however, a driver for your peripheral that is for both 98 & 2k(prof/serv) in order to have a rat's ass of it working correctly.

The IO Driver loads, but it won't load the driver for the device? It see it... but I HATE MICROSOFT for not supporting any thing. Any ideas?

Does anyone have a copy of the ionetworks USb software that I could have? Thanks in advance - Coco

I've got a USB keyobard in my NT4 server - it works fine. It even works well with no service packs installed (ie setup). The server are just normal p2 motherboards with an OEM of nt4.

na, I would be interested to know how you did it?
I have checked out the ionetworks and ltitl sites and the ionetworks looks promising.
If I have any luck I will let you know.

Hi.
I've tried to download the file USBEview.exe at ltitl, but I couldn't.
Could someone download it?!?

Look this Site. "www.bluewatersystems.com"
Perhaps anyone Warez it for download? It?S sooo bullsh...nooo Support from Microsoft...aaaahh!!!!!

All This because Microsoft made a boo boo! (again), There's quite a lot of sites with USB support, just search for them, Personally I cant down-load the damn thing!
Anybody else on the same sinking ship?

I have a Zip 250 USB drive and Iomega says that it works on NT4. But it doesn't work with my IBM A40 Netvista PC running on NT4 with Sp 6a. Bill, can you help?

Want USB support for Windows NT? Try =going to: http://www.bluewatersystems.com !!!
They have USB Retail. Its a device that allows USB devices to work on Windows NT!!

I'm also interested in getting USB devices to run on Windows NT 4. Specifically USB WEb cams. I've looked at the Bluewater systems and ionnetworks. The bluewatersystems usb enabler does not include usb web cams. Any ideas?

Dear Dudes there is support for USB on a NT4 platform. Keep in mind there are many more companies that manufactor drivers and support this is off the top of my head.
www.bsquare.com $79 note upgrade to NT5 about $49
