Assuming you're using the Microsoft Client for MS-DOS, use

net logon /domain:

and enter your username/password, it should log you into the domain and validate it.

Sorry, that last one didn't quite work, use:

net use /domain:domainname

where domainname is the name of the domain.
(ex.: net use /domain:snoopy)

Hope it works out.
