Unknown files in winnt\system32\con

Hi,

I have some unknown files being generated and stored in C:\WINNT\system32\config
-REG00142.LOG
-REG00143
-USE00141

Does anyone knows what it is? They don't appear to be text files and the files range from few MBs to tens of MBs. Thanks
