Uninstalling NT Server 4 w/Win98 dual boot

Comment:
I have NT Server 4 (using NTFS)and Windows 98 on a dual boot.
I need to remove NT. I know I can't simply delete the WINNT directory because of the file system. How do I get rid of the NTFS? Then do I just delete the WINNT directory?
When that is done, will W98 just come up automatically or must I do something else?
Any help is appreciated as this was setup by a former co-worker (who really did know what he was doing). I now have a separate NT Server box and want this one particular machine just to run Windows 98, but have all the space.

Hi!
Your situation is a bit tricky but here is the soln. :
1) Boot from the NT setup disk 1, which were made when NT was installed.
2) There you will be listed the partitions on the HD and their types. Select the NTFS partition which you wish to delete and delete it.
3) Next, boot from a DOS bootable disk and run FDISK. MArk the partition in which Win98 is installed as ACTIVE.
4) Reboot the system. It should boot down into Win98. But if it gives error like invalid system disk or stuff, then boot from a Win98 bootable floppy and transfer the system to the Win98 partition using the SYS command.

Summary: The machine will never boot from the emergency repair disk (ERD.) In order to use the ERD you need to initiate the same procedure that you would be using to perform a fresh install and then select th...
