One day I had this idea that I could install NT4 Wkstn onto a spare partition and generally investigate the program. On this machine I run 95 2nd edition with 2x 2gig HDD's. Inserted the disc to find it was installing from Go with no options for partitions/drives etc, so I stopped it. Not soon enough apparently 'cos when I rebooted NTLDR kicked in and I was having to choose which system. Read about removing NT from '98, deleting the NT directories then Boot.ini files and using the Bootup disc to then type sys C: at the root. Doesn't work in 95, does it?
Now I can't get past 'Boot:Couldn't find NTLDR. Please insert another disc.'
I reinstalled the cd rom drivers and reset config and Auto' to reload 95 from cdrom but made no difference. I know I should have asked before I even tried it, but can anyone help?
This PS/2 uses a Refdisk to get into the bios but nothing in there and I don't know how to get thro to the registry if I have to.

You should be able to sys c: if you are using a win95 boot disk. If you are using a 98 boot disk it wont work.

Jeff...
Welcome to the club LOL I did a same thing some time ago. Here is what you need to do.
IF YOU CAN BOOT TO WINDOWS:
Boot your computer to DOS. Put a blank floppy in and type in "Sys c:" from a command. This will transfer all your boot files. Then when you boot remove your boot.ini file and other NT files. I don't remeber exactly which ones but if you go to www.support.microsoft.com they will tell you how.NOW, IF YOU CANNOT BOOT TO WINDOWS DUE TO : Cannot find NTLDR error:
What I did when I had this problem, I used 3 floppy disks that I created durring the setup. Instert disk #1 and put your NT CD in. Basicly you want to reinstall your NT. It worked for me If for some reason that doesn't work.. the only thing I can recomend you is to use fdisk command and reinstall your entire HD
YOU NEED 3 FLOPPY DISKS THAT NT MADE YOU CREATE DURRING SETUP TO REINSTAL NT AND FIX THIS PROBLEM..
I hope this helps

If u are able to boot from a floppy and use the cd u can write d:\install /o. This will force the program just to create the 3 discs mentioned.

To make NT set-up disks...
Boot-up (dos or '9x or NT);
Load the NT CD;
If in '9x or NT open a DOS window;
Change to the i386 folder on the NT CD
If you are running NT type:
< winnt32 /ox > (not < > - and press Enter)
If running '9x type:
< winnt /ox > (and press Enter)
If booting from DOS (with CDROM support), change to the i386 folder on the NT CD and at the prompt type:
winnt /ox (and press Enter)
You need 3 floppies
There is no " install " on an NT CD...
Running < winnt /b > from within the i386 is the NT equivalent...
