Hi there
I have copied some documents (word & excel 2003) from a windows 2000 to an NT 4.0 workstation (using office 2000). Unfortunatley I can no longer open these docs by double clicking the files, I receive a 'cannot find file' message. I can however open the docs by firstly opening the application then file>open. I have trashed the user profile and recreated but no joy. I have tried to uninstall Office but I receive the following error
"Internal Error 2755: Please Contact Product Support for assistance."
I have checked the event logs on the workstation and these two errors appear frequently
Product: Microsoft Office 2000 Professional -- Internal Error 2755: Please contact product support for assistance.
Detection of product '{00010409-78E1-11D2-B60F-006097C998E7}', feature 'ExcelUserData', component '{8ADD2C96-C8B7-11D1-9C67-0000F81F1B38}' failed. The resource 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Excel\UserData' does not exist.
Any advice would be much appreciated
Thanks in advance
Mark

Possibly a problem associated with opening a word/excel 2003 file in word/excel 2000, so maybe try saving them in Word/Excel 2003 as the 2000 counterparts? use the File>Save As option. Just really a way to get the whole solution progress started. But that is a way if you really want to be able to jsut double click them from any where right now.
If this equals that, then why does that equal this?

Hi Jennifer
Yes, the support doc from Microsoft was perfect, thanks very much for your help guys I really appreciate it
Regards
Mark
