Unable to Add a Printer

Subject: Unable to Add a Printer
OS: Windows NT Server 4.0 SP
CPU/Ram: Intel PIII, 256MB
Comment:
When I attempt to add a printer on this system, I get the following error:

"Operation could not be completed. The RPC server is unavilable."

Checking MS Support turns up potential problems with the spoolss.dll and spoolss.exe files. Therefore, I restored these files from a known working system with identical configuration and rebooted. The problem still continues.

The Spooler service is not running. When I attempt to start the Spooler service, I get the following error:

"Could not start the Spooler service on \\<name>. Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly."

No further information is available.

A simple method to solve it:
start--programs--Administrative Tools--services--prints spooler
prints spooler enable.
