I have to install NT4 server & NT4 workstation on the same HD and I have already installed the NT4 server, how can I create a new partition and have a dual boot menù?
Thanx in advance for your helping.
Cheers max

I would use partition magic
to create another NTFS or FAT
partition. And then install win nt worksation

Thanx for your reply, I know partition magic and i have created a new partition but then I can't use boot magic to manage the two partition........have you another metod?

Providing the 'new' partition is not beyond the 4Gig barrier (physically) on the drive... just run NTWS setup as normal (3 floppies - or CD boot if allowed) and point it to the new partition. Ideally (during setup) change the default " winnt " to perhaps " winntws " (no " ") so as to clearly differentiate it from the Server winnt i/d in all boot info etc...
You will have the dual-boot by default.
Workstation can go in as fat16 (max 4Gig); and as ntfs - and can be larger than 4Gig. (if partition is an Extended partition, or is a logical-drive).
You can use Server (Disk Admin) to preformat the partition as fat16/ntfs if you wish; or leave it to Workstation setup to do it.
Before hand - just to be safe... - make a fresh ERD for Server; renew ERD once Workstation installed.
The 4Gig issue mentioned above is the NT boot-code boundary; NT will not boot if the partition (be it Primary/Extended) is beyond the 4Gig barrier on the drive; i.e. the max space ahead of it (used/unused) must not exceed 4Gig (idealy a little less).
If the intended partition is another Primary, and you make it active prior to installing Workstation, then it will/should detect Server and add it to the Workstation boot.ini (in that Primary) - thus givning the dual-boot. If you run leave Server Primary active and run workstation setup from there (3 floppies/CD boot) then it will effectively add itself to the boot.ini and give the dual-boot; it will also replace the existing boot/start-up files with its version (they're the same really).
Usually... Workstation would go in first; but there shouldn't be any problems the other way round.
