Comment:
I have run into this several times, most recently with two 3COM NICs. I am unable to have NT 4.0 Workstation identify the NICs as independent. Therefor I am unable to completely utilize the dual NICs. Does everyone who utilized dual NICs have to use two different manufacturer of NICs? Does anyone have documentation that might solve this problem?

Hello:
I'm assuming you are trying to use two 3Com NICs in the same box.
I NEVER do that, as it does create too much extra work and causes problems.
It's much easier to use NICs that are not only from two different manufacturers but also utilizing different chipsets.
Don't know about others, but that's the way I deal with the issue. NIC's are cheap anyway. Even Walmart sells them now. Saw an SMC EZ 10/100 for under $14 there yesterday.
