I have a Gateway Solo notebook. It has a video out port on the graphics card (ATI Rage Mobility 128.) The TV out function works perfectly except for video files. How do I configure/activate video output to play on TV out?

It should output your video fine!,I have an a/v out on my ibook and it mirrors my screen on my tv,the only prob I have is if I'm watching a dvd and my a/v plug is in it won't show my movie on my ibook sceen, but it will output it to my tv!,also video out plugs on notebooks do output in macrovision!,so if you're trying to copy dvd's trough the plugs on your vcr?,you will have no screen or a blue screen!,also alot of video out plugs are multi region,so if you're tv is "ntsc" make sure it's set to that!. If that doesn't help it's possible gateway made the card like that on purpose? I would suggest calling thier tech support and finding out more!
