hi

have a problem with trust

situation - have one domain in one office which is NT4. have another office in london, with seperate domain running 2003 server. I have a VPN link between the two and can ping both sides.

Initially when i set this up... i had set trusts up on both sides and they were all verified. Then something has happened not sure what... now i can not browse the domain or anything.. have removed the trusts to re add them and they can now not be re-added as can not find domain controller.

any ideas?

thanks in advance

the errors vary dependingo n what i try to do

setting the trust on NT side - it is unable to validate

setting up on 2003 - unable to contact domain controller.

can not browse to either domain
but doing start run \\2003 dc name... from NT side i get prompted for user name and password to connect sometimes.. and others an error about maximum connections received

from 2003 typing run \\NT dc name.. it can not find it - saying something along the lines of trust relationship failed.

i can ping boths sides using dc names.

have added the following to each sides lmhosts

10.10.10.10 DC name #PRE #DOM:Domain-Name
10.10.10.10 "domain \0x1b" #PRE

with making sure the spaces are correct and obviously changing the ip and names to the appropriate other side

strange you never mention active directory problemchild. You can't have a trust between the two without it.

Lmhosts file??? Where's DNS? Sure doeesn't sound like you are running AD.
