hi, My hard drive is 18.2 GB Quantum fireball Plus tm KA , I install a software called diskManagerDiskGo which will help set up the bios to dective 18.2 GB hard drive. I already have NT service pak 4 install, I install windows 98 on my hard drive, but when I install NT4.0, the error message will said" inaccessible_boot_device, restart and set the recovery options in the system control panel or the /crashdebug system start option". can anyone help me with this problem? how could I fix it? thank you for your time and help ^ - ^ .

I learned quite a bit about this issue for my own use.... First: are you saying you have NT then tried to install 98? Or 98 then NT? I would recommend 98 then NT for use of the built in Boot-manager - Second: When installing NT make sure that you know what speed bus you have on your harddrive ATA33 or the new ATA66. If you hard drive is connected as 66 then try and install the drivers for that... If you don't care, set it up as a 33, they are all backward compatible.... NT has a tough time recognizing 66.... -Good Luck

So, When I saw your mail, I smiled..^^ It's bugs of NT. Inaccessble boot device, that's enough message!! Nt can't support your harddisk driver. It means you need another driver. But I don't know which files you need. Anyway, you can get that in ms site (http://www.microsoft.com) For example, My hdd is Fujitsu 13G And I needed Atapi.inf, atapi.sys, atapi.exe... which were downloaded in MS site First, you get the file you need. Second, you copy that file in any drive, c: or d: Third,In setup process, NT will ask, option 'Enter' & 'S', which you can use another device driver, you must push 'S' and specify the location of that files you got. Hi. maybe you can get help taking a look at Quantum site. Other thing... have you tried install only NT in your HD? If yes, and in this case you have the same error message, I think that really NT doesnt support your HD :)
