I need to ghost some Dell PCs from a shared server image , which i have done many times before. However actually getting a share to the server is a bit of a hit and miss affair at the moment. For example i will use a network boot disk , with a static IP address, and although the IP address is assigned to the PC i will get either error 53:The computer name could not be found , or error 55:The resource does not exist on the network , when it tries to connect to the share. But if i then turn off the PC and use the exact same disk later on in the day , it will work!! Within the protocol.ini file on the boot disk , is a free static ip address , WINS server, subnet mask, default gateway etc etc. The server i try to connect to is on the same subnet , but the WINS servers arent...but if the disk does connect to the share (every once in a while!) then it must work , so how can i get it to work all the time?
kind regards ,Danny..

Do you have the IP address and the computer name for the share you are trying to access in the LMHOSTS file?

Sure you can. I a have emailed you a copy of a working netboot diskette. You will need to edit the LMhost file and a .bat file, but it should work for you.
