temp folder shows history

The c:\temp folder appears like a history folder (it has last week, today...icons), but no temporary file and folders. I login in as admin, the temp folder shows the contents correctly. What would cause a user's profile to show the history in the c:\temp folder? It causes some problems with installs. If I'm not making myself clear, you can e-mail me and I'll try again.

this is caused by IE 5. The best way to get rid of this error is to create a Temp file on the D:\ then right click on my computer go into environments and set the temp to go to d:\temp. Unfortunately this is only good for the one person logged in, need to set it for all users that log in (when they log in) Or set the following as below.
Next create a folder IEtemp or tempie(whatever you prefer) then right click on internet explorer and select properties. Then go into temporary internet files Under the GENERAL tab, and select settings and set it for the d:\ietemp(tempie) under the move folder button. This will set IE to go to that folder and everything should be fine and dandy. Remember this is profile specific so it only works for whoever is logged on.
