task scheduler and BDC

I have an NT 4.0, sp6, IE5.5sp2 BDC server that has programs that need to be backed up. I tried to use task scheduler to schedule a backup everyday, but it does not run. Task scheduler runs on the PDC (same setup) fine. Is there an issue with task scheduler and a BDC? The task scheduler service is running and when the time comes for the task to run, if I have Explorer open to Scheduled Tasks, the task flashes but nothing else happens. I can set up the same task on the PDC and it runs fine, but I really need scheduler to run on the BDC itself rather than trying to run it through the PDC (the PDC and BDC are in two different buildings). I have also tried running a task on a second BDC and it won't run either.
Will the task run manually ? eg: from the run command does your task execute what it's supposed to ?

No, when you right click on the task and click run, it does not execute. A task set up with the AT command does not run either. I did notice in the sheduler log that it said that it could not login with the user specified. The user I set it up with is Administrator with the correct password. Thanks for your response.
