can any one help me.....
when i am running NTBACKUP it is showing my compaq SDT9000 tape drive offline and not connected where as drive is connected properly.the driver for the tape drive is also loaded properly.i am able to take backup through veritas backup.please help me in this regard.

If you have veritas installed it will in effect grab the tapr drive exclusively for its own use hence it appearing off-line. What you need to do is open 'Services' from control panel and stop all of the backupexec services.

Then you can do things like run dignostics and othe backup programs.

Remember to restart all of the backupexec services when you want to use BE for your backups though.
