I just got the following error message on a computer in our network: The System Log File is Full. I have plenty of disk space remaining and so I do not know why this error is coming up. Nor do I know how to take care of this problem. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Thanks,
Casey

The system log can be accessed from:
Start/Programs/Administrative Tools/Event ViewerChoose the System log from:
Log/SystemYou can save the log data and then clear all events.
You may need to find out what is filling the log though, there may be a problem that needs sorting out.

Thanks, I saved and cleared it. What is filling it is this new program that I had to install for my company. It runs some event every minute and had been running since the 25th and just became full. Is there any way to increase the size of the system log file to being unlimited or at least considerably larger? Or if not, is there any way to set it up to where is saves and clears itself periodically? Thanks again. Casey

You can set the log file size and also set it to wrap around, ie overwrite messages older than a certain date or when full. You do this from the Event Viewer/Log/Log Settings screen. You might also want to look at the program which is creating entries every minute - this is unusual and a bit extreme, can the prog be configured not to do this or to log and less frequent intervals? If it is a time correction server this is probably the case.
