Stop 0x3f during NT installation

Comment:
I get a BSOD with STOP 0x3f during installation of NT4 server. According to the MS-KB this is 'normal' on systems with 4 or more GB RAM. The 'solution' provided there (physically removing some RAM and re-adding it after installation of SP3) is not an option for me, because all 4 installed DIMM's are needed (the mainboard uses 4-way-interleave). I tried using the '/maxmem=' switch, but it didn't help. Are there any other solutions, e.g. creating installation diskettes already containing SP3?

What mainboard have you got? I can't remember any that will stop functioning wihtout all banks loaded.
Normally, the type of memory management you're talking about will simply be turned off if you don't load all four. This is normal.

Hi Chase,
you're right, not all banks have to be loaded, but there must always be a multiple of 4 DIMMS (up to 16). I tried removing one of them and the system stopped with a beep-code at the POST. Disabling some memory banks in the BIOS also doesn't work. The board is a 'Siemens D1173' (not very wide spread, i guess).
