After changing my virtual memory settings in the Virtual Memory section in My Computer properties I restarted the PC. It starts-up in DOS and will get to Log-on of Windows, but after that the desktop won't build up all the way. I can only see the desktop wall-paper . After that there's a message saying " The system is running without a properly paging file. Please us virtual memory option the system applet in the Control panel to create paging file etc..." after clicking OK another window pops up saying "Desktop can't access this folder, path too long" I understand I have to change that virtual memory stuff, but there's no way for me to get through to the Control Panel. Even in VGA mode startup it will still give me that message. What's that desktop path message anyway???
Does anyone know a solution. I must say I'm still learning about Windows. I'm more an Apple user!
