Installed Active desktop on NT 4, SP 6a, and when I reboot the "Start" button shows up but when I click on it there is no menu anymore, though the button looks visibly pressed, and pressing P or R or any other does nothing. Right click on Start button works. And pressing Ctrl+Esc also makes the Start button appear pressed without showing any menu. Its an IBM Thinkpad, Win NT Workstation, IE 5.00. Would appreciate any help.

Problem fixed! Browsing thru this website, I saw some similar messages suggesting an IE repair. and that did the trick. Cool.

You can repair the installation of Internet Explorer (i have the 6.0 version).
And when you reboot, the problem is fixed.
