Slow Roaming profile

We have an Nt server 4, dual pentium 350, 256 megs ram, 100 base network and Windows 2000 client. The problem is they are setup on a roaming profile and if their folders are say more than 2megs with files it takes a long time to load before they get to the desktop screen.
Any quick fix for this apart from getting a faster machine or not having roaming profiles.
