Settiong DHCP to ping IP address before leaseing

In DHCP manager or wherever can I setup DHCP to ping the IP address before it lease the address.
I know this is supposed to be done but I can not find it.

I found it. What this does is if DHCP can ping the IP address it will not lease it. I have been having some problems (long story) with DHCP trying to lease IP address that are already in use. This is a temporary fix until I can figure out waht is going on.
Summary: There shouldn't be anything special you have to do. Just assign the IP address and you should be fine. I have never heard of getting that error message when going from dynamic to static IP addressing....
