Hi all,

I'm running a WinNt4 server with 95/98 etc clients. I have connected a Kyocera 1700+ networked printer and can ping the address the printer has from the server or any machine on the network.

How do I set the printer up in NT server so I can allow others to connect to it? Do I set it up as a local printer (via tcp/ip) or is it a network printer using the ip address? Local port? Digital Network port? Help!!!

TIA

It's alright, I managed to get it sorted myself. Thanks anyway. I've put the solution in case anyone else needs this...

Add Printer.

Network Printer

Add Port

LPR Port (TCP/IP)

This requires the TCP/IP Protocol and the TCP/IP Printer Services to be installed under networks in the control panel.

Name or address of host providing lpd

The TCP/IP address of the printer e.g. "126.127.128.100" (must be the same as IP Address under TCP/IP section on the Ecolink status page).

Name of the printer on that machine:

Kyocera Mita recommends typing in "PASSTHRU" as this will ensure that data sent to the printer will be in the correct format.

Good luck folks. It worked for me!
