hi everyone, i am setting up aserver for my small office. This server has windowsnt 4 server and a 3com etherlink III (3c508B) when i installed nt it asked me for the irqsetting (in my bios i found them) and the i/o port address... i dont know what thismeansor what to set it because i left it how it was and it said that these settingswerent correct and may cause errors! What do i need to set my i/o port address... oneexample is like 0x300, etc but i dont know what to set it... cuz i cant log on to the network or even ping the other computers please help me out here are my specs: p3-400 384 pc100 3 x 2gb hdd's + 10 gb file server space m758mr mobo latest bios! anybody know how to fix this?? If you go to 3COM sopport and download the drivers, included in the driver packaged is a DOS Diagnostic App, this will inform you of the settings the card is set to.

Just my $.02, but if you're setting up a server, if you're having trouble installing the network card drivers, that's the least of your problems. You might want to invest in a good book on NT Server Administration.

i know how to set up the server and everything and mine is already configured to be nothing more than just in a workgroup, im not setting up a domain or anything all i want is to run NT so that i can use vmware to test other os's liek os/2 what ios os/2 anyway????
