As such there is no any method to start/stop the service remotely on windows nt but u can install any thirld part telnet server on windows nt and then u can telnet to windows nt. once to telnet to windows nt u will see the remote command prompt and can use the net start/stop "service name" to start/stop any service

goto www.sysinternals.com and download psutils. There is a service in there called psservice which can start/stop services on any machine, provided you have the credentials
