I have been told but many to avoid service pack 6. "It has bugs"

No! there are two different version. "6a" is more stable than "6"(with bugs). I've updated most machines from "5" to "6a" in my company. They work fine so far.

All application sw has bugs! You need to be specific as the peticular bug may effect your setup.
