Reply: (edit)I have had that before. Don't know why. I disabled it in control panel/devices icon and didn't experience any problems. This is not the greatest solution but I couldn't find any others. Hope it helps.

Reply: (edit)I also found that on my NT4 Workstation that if the sound dlls were started with no sound card you will also get the 7026 Event. In my case it was easy I went to the event viewer and found the offending event checked the description and found a file name I could search. I searched for that name and a bunch of files with the dll extension came up related to the sound card that was previously installed. So I went into device mananger found the same named file and disabled it. Problem solved.
