SCSI HD detect problems

I have just built a new system and this comprises of a SCSI card (Ultra) and SCSI HD (50pin). My problem is that when I install NT the disk is not recognised.
On boot the BIOS runs and then the onboard BIOS on the SCSI card runs and detects the HD (id 0) and the card itself (id 7). During the install in NT I select ‘S’ to add in the NT drivers for the SCSI card (as stated in the instructions for SCSI card). The drivers load OK, but setup fails to detect the SCSI HD and therefore I can’t install NT.
I have put a jumper on the HD where it says ‘TERM ENABLE’ and there is a jumper on the SCSI card for ‘automatic termination’ (I have also tried turning the ‘automatic detect’ termination off and enabling the ‘enable termination’ in the Scsi cards BIOS.)
