my nt does not recognize adaptec scsi adapter. any suggestions ?

Have you installed the SCSI BIOS? If the BIOS is enabled but not present, NT won't find the SCSI adapter. If you don't want the SCSI BIOS enabled you'll have to add NTBOOTDD to your boot partition.

Older NT 4.0 will not recognize most of Adaptec's stuff. Below is Adaptec's SCSI driver/adapter url for download.
