hi

I have the following message

c00000e5 This error indicates that the SAM server has encountered an internal consistency error in its database. This catastrophic failure will prevent further operation of SAM.

this happens when the ctrl + alt + delete is to be pressed to login.

any idea how i can fix it.

thanks

Hello,
I had the same problem.

I have fixed this error with a windows xp installation disk.

I followed this steps:

1 - Boot up yor machine with windows xp cd.
2 - Choose Console Repair option .
3 - Type the number of the unit that contains the windows NT installed.
4 - Give the password administrator.
5 - Type exit and reboot.

That's it. My problem was solved and I got the system again.

I hope help you. Bye...

Hi,

One of the users where I work had the same SAM failure occur with his NT4 workstation. I tried the repair function using an XP install disk as mentioned by Marcu Baragli
but the admin password wasn't recognized. So I tried the repair function a Win2k install disk but it also didn't recognize the admin password.

So I took the hard drive out of the NT box and installed it as a secondary drive on an XP box. Then I ran a disk scan utility (in Windows Explorer right-click on the drive, select Properties, click the Tools tab), with it set to fix all errors and recover data from bad sectors where possible.

After it was done I put the hard drive back in the NT box and it booted ok, and I was able to log on using the admin password and the user was able to log on as normal.

I realize the above thread is old, but I hope maybe it will help someone else someday.
