Comment:
NAV found that the c:\winnt\loader.exe file was infected with Download.Trojan. It Quarentined the file. Now I need to replace it with a new one. I tried rebooting to see if the file builds itself and it didn't. How can I restore this file?

I've never heard of that file. I think it can be safely deleted; You should have a C:\NTLDR, C:\NTDETECT.COM, NTOSKRNL.EXE; these are the OS loaders. The file you mention is either part of an application, or more likely, just a file the virus put there.

Loader.exe is a spyware program. Check your firewall log for an IP address then go to DNS Stuff to find the spy.

My Norton caught this loader.exe when I went to a song lyric site and it is now sitting in quarentine. Norton can't repair and restore it, and I can't report it to Norton (they already have it on record)...so what do I do now? Delete it from Norton quarentine? If I do will it mess up anything?
