I've usually found the Realtek NICs to be good reliable inexpensive cards.
Realtek are often badged under other names too.
Netgear and D-link similarly; SMC seem to be pretty good too.
(Can't exactly say the same about Linksys.)
High Speed phone connection = 56K? I've never had any problems with the above (preferred) cards and 56K.

i have 10 systems in my office. and i am using ne2000 card for netwoek. Now i wish to add one more machine. for that machine i purchased one rtl8029 card but i cannot connect the machine to other netwoek ples inform me the reasons and remodies.
