Hi,
Im trying to use RAS to dial into my server from home. I can dial in fine, can view the intranet, can ping machines but I can't see any other computers on the network neighbourhood apart from my own. I can't understand it?

You need to make sure that your workgroup name of your home computer matches the domain name of the other computer, then you will see the other computers in the Network Neighborhood - it may take a few minutes for them to show up as browsing is usually slow, especially over a dial up line.

It is also possible that the time delay when your computer is trying to see over the network neighborhood is too long, there is a default of 45s for network neighborhood timeout settings, try changing this in the registry to 200s. Goto to this website for more info. It should solve your problem. http://www.win2000mag.com/Articles/Index.cfm?ArticleID=4712&Key=Remote%20Access%20Service%20%28RAS%29

I had the same experience and I just connected to the machine I needed from the Run command dialog using the UNC. \\computer name\share name.
