Hi,
We have a program which retrieves a database from Mainframe environment and merges it in a word document and then prints it. Since we are loosing data here and there, I would like to save this document before or after printing. A 20 gig hardrive had been installed on this machine which runs NT 4.0 SP5. My question is
1. IS there any way to specify to save the files to a specific location after printing.
2. Where can we view the .prn files

3. Once the location is found which viewer can be used to view the files.

The printer is a HP Laserjet 8100

This all depends if you load the file into word manually or through a program

A macro in word would solve the problem of printing and saving, either as a WORD document or sending the print job to a file and not the printer

The file path can also be specified in the code, using the current system date as part of the SAVE FILE NAME AS, to enable you to save mulitple versions automatically

Of course you'd need to think of something else if you save more then one a day

Just use some VBA script and your problems will be solved
