After installing Q832894.exe i cannot get on to windows update uninstall and i can am i the only one to have this problem (4 pc's) the patch is ie6 sp1 fixes 2-2-04

I'm a little confused by your question. You can't get to Windows Update "Uninstall?" Did you try uninstalling the patch from Add/Remove Programs?

after installing the update my brouser will not connect to windows update it just says opening page (it does not time out)if i uninstall the patch it will connect with no problems. english is not my first language but the only one i can speak!! regards paul

The trend with later cumulative updates for ie of which 832894 is the latest incarnation of, is to change some very obscure default settings. Take a look in Internet Options, Advanced tab for any that may be causing the 'blockage'?

try uninstalling that update..it has a known bug that disables Remote Acess Services (Am i correct you're on Dial-Up then?)..do the uninstall through add/ remove programs so that it's properly done. There are some earlier threads on this subject...i'll see if i can find them, if youy still can't connect....

hi-- been following this with some interest. i couldn't get patch to work either until i intalled ms patch q831167, which ms suggets you do if you have problems. things are fine, now, though i did have to revisit a few sites to redo password. however--q832894 isn't to be found in add/remove in cp. though it is found when i click help on ie6 sp1, along with other patches i've installed. any chance that 831167 did away with 832894in add/remove? would like to know in case i ever have to uninstall it. my os, by the by,is xp sp1. thanks. bob
