Hi i have a user that when they try to surf the net in IE it asks for there username and password.

The strange thing is, is that this only happens to this particular user on this one computer, if another user uses this computer they can surf the web fine, if this user logs onto a different machine they can surf the web fine.

It's only when this user, uses this particular machine it asks for username, password, domain, when you put in this users details it doesn't work, but if you put in someone elses details it does work.

I thought it might of been a profile problem, so i removed the profile from the computer and relogged on again, but it still has the same problem, does anyone know where else it might store settings for users in regards to this? I'm thinking maybe the registry, but i don't want to go hacking around when i'm not sure what i am looking for, either that or maybe a cached setting somewhere in IE?

They are on NT4, we are using proxy server 2, any help would be appreciated.

Oh yeah i can access our intranet, i know that bypasses proxy, but just to let you know it's not a routing issue config on this machine.

thanks
Furble
