Promoting NT member server to a BDC

hi there,
I know this is a silly question, but i hope i can get an answer for it.
I have a network using NT domain with one PDC & i want to promote one member server to a BDC. how can i do it. I've tried the dcpromo command which is used in W2K, but it didn't work.

Ahmed.

I am fairly sure you can't in NT without reinstalling it, then choosing it to be a BDC during setup. Also the BDC will connect to the PDC during setup so it needs to be online at the time.

David is right--you can't do it. You have to reload the box and start from scratch and chose it at the time you load the OS.
DcPromo is a 2000 thing.

I am trying to do the same thing you are. I just came across a third party application that allows you to promote a stand alone server to a BDC. I have not had time to try it out but the url is http://www.algintech.com/UTools/UPromote.asp.
