Comment:
User running NT 4.0, SP6. When his screen saver kicks in and he logs back on, any programs that were open on his task bar are now closed. Ideas?

If you're referring to logging out and logging back into the NT desktop, the normal condition is for all programs to be shut down during the logout process.
If you're saying that the screen saver logs him out, that's not normal, and you should uninstall the screen saver to see if it's not the offending component.
If that's not the condition you're describing, be more explicit. Give a step by sep description of everyhting he does from boot up to shutdown, including a recreation of the problem.
