Problem with network card

Hi
I have very weird problem with installing network card on NT 4
I tried to install xircom RE-100 on Toshiba laptop but with no success!
i installed properlly the driver i changed the bios options and still nothing not light bot network nothing i replaced few cards and even tried the 3Com card but nothing i even tried to reinstalled all the protocols and services but stil nothing ,i looked on the "PCMCIA"setting in the control panel and he says that "no PCMCIA" i tried every thing
does enyone have any idea????
help

try to reinstall the winnt service pack.
